今日は節分、そして明日は立春。暖かい春の陽気が待ち遠しいですね♪ 今回は節分について、外国の方に説明するつもりで、英語で書いてみました。(*^^)v

A ceremony held on February 3, the day before spring and people scatter beans to drive away evil and bring good luck on that day.
The ceremony is called “Setsubun” and bean throwing is called “Mame-maki” in Japanese.
During Mame-maki, they say “Oni-wa-soto! (devils out!), Fuku-wa-uchi! (Fortune in!)” with a loud voice.
And then people eat the same number of beans as their age to wish for good health. (^^)
On the Setsubun, people eat a “Fortune Sushi Roll”. It is a custom that people eat an entire Sushi Roll without stopping and face to the lucky direction of the year.
It’s said that good fortune will be gone if you speak while eating. (>_<)

立春の前日の2月3日に行われる儀式です。この日には、邪気を祓って福を招くために、豆まきをします。
日本語で、その儀式は「節分」、また豆を投げることを「豆まき」と呼びます。「鬼は外！福は内！」と大きな声で言いながら豆まきをします。その後、無病息災を願って年の数だけその豆を食べます。(^^)
また、節分には「恵方巻き」を食べます。その年の恵方を向いて一気に食べるのが習わしです。食べている間に話すと幸運が逃げてしまうと言われています。(>_<)
